“Distance therapy, also known as telemental health, is the use of technology for therapuetic needs of clients in a location different from the mental health professional either synchronously or asynchronously” Gilbertson, 2020.

Now is the time for all clinicians to explore telemental health. Already, we are hearing of the extraordinary efforts of counselors, social workers, psychologists and other mental health professionals as they reach out to those in need of psychotherapeutic services.

The pandemic has changed the world, perhaps permanently, and how we provide our services to clients. It is important that we all become competent in delivering those services online.
