Dr. Jaime R. Picañol is a licensed psychologist who is the Director of Psychology, Clinical Training and Forensic Services at a maximum-security state forensic hospital in Florida. At the hospital, Dr. Picañol works with patients who are diagnosed with severe mental illness, as well as patients who have a history of substance abuse requiring treatment for their illnesses and addictions.

Dr. Picañol earned his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University. Before working at the state hospital, Dr. Picañol was an Assistant Professor in the Doctoral Program for Clinical Psychology at Albizu University, where he taught clinical, forensic, criminology, and neuropsychology courses.

His previous experiences also include conducting forensic evaluations in a private-setting, as well as providing assessment and treatment of outpatient sex offenders and inmates at a federal correctional complex.

Dr. Picañol has presented at local and national conferences and has chaired multiple doctoral dissertations. Dr. Picañol is also a graduate from the FBI National Academy and retired Law Enforcement Captain with the Miami Division of the Florida Highway Patrol. Dr. Picañol is an avid Tolkien fan, enjoys snowboarding, and fine dining.
